More about April and her pets:
I am the proud mother of 3 dogs,
3 cats, and 2 cows. All rescued or found.
Tucker, a great Pyrenees, is our gentle giant. His mother appeared one
day and had puppies the next. The 1998 flood occurred the day after Tuckers
mother arrived. We resided in the Plum Creek flood plain. The flooded
roads kept me from being able to get to my house that night. Tuckers
amazing mother managed to find a high spot under the house and save all
of the puppies. It was a miracle because my house was surrounded by 3
inches of water. We found homes for everyone, but Tucker chose to stay.
Tucker loves everyone. He is always in a good mood and ready for one of
the cats to use him as a rubbing post. He is very sweet and dear and prefers
to sleep on the bed.
Zuzu, a chow/collie mix, is our family clown. He was dropped off on Bunton
Lane and sat at the intersection waiting for his family to return for
3 days. After finally deciding to let me help him, he came home to stay.
He was very shy from being abused. Now, he is the most outgoing in our
family. He loves to play ball and never stops smiling. He prances everywhere
he goes. He likes to go to the barn to see the horses for more than to
play in the hay . . . he loves carrots. He cant get enough of them.
Kylie, is also
a chow/border collie mix. She is our princess. She lived on her own fending
for herself for an unknown amount of time. She was ragged when my friend
found her on the outskirts of Kyle. She was very thin, her fur matted,
and she had been abused as bad as any animal I have ever met. She has
slowly recovered from her abuse. She was afraid of her own shadow for
years. Now, her coat glistens. She keeps herself clean as a cat. Not only
does she allow strangers to pet her, she grins and begs for attention.
She has a confident gait and deep attachment to our soft bed. She eats
her dinner there like a princess on a throne and then takes a deep nap
every evening. What a life!
